Choosing a Marrakech wedding photographer: portfolios, quotes and planning

iPhotoo photography — Weddings

Planning a wedding in Marrakech can mean comparing beautiful portfolios from a distance. Start with the day you are actually arranging: the locations, the people who matter, the role of film and the memories you want to revisit. Your wedding photographer’s style matters, but so does an approach and a proposal that fit your celebration.

Look at a full wedding story

Ask to see a complete gallery and, if you want wedding videography, a finished film. Look beyond the couple portraits to preparations, family photographs, the ceremony and the evening. This gives you a clearer sense of colour consistency, movement and how the team handles darker settings.

Choose an approach you feel comfortable with. Carefully directed portraits and a quiet documentary style require different ways of working. Tell the photographer whether you prefer spontaneous moments, editorial portraits, decorative details or a mixture. The right conversation makes those expectations explicit before the wedding.

Compare wedding photography quotes on the same brief

The cost of a wedding photographer in Marrakech depends on the project. A ceremony at one venue and a celebration across several days need different coverage. Give each team the same dates, locations and schedule before comparing prices.

Check the actual deliverables. Coverage hours alone do not tell you whether editing, a gallery, a wedding film or an album are included. Ask for unclear items to be explained in writing so that your comparison reflects the work you will receive.

  • The dates, locations and start and finish times.
  • The number of photographers and videographers.
  • The photographs, films and any printed albums included.
  • Travel, optional services and booking conditions.
  • Delivery timing and the process for selections or editing requests.

Make room for light, travel and people

A riad, a villa and an outdoor venue offer different light and working space. Share the addresses and draft schedule with your team early. Transfers, access and the time available for portraits all affect what can be photographed comfortably.

Keep your essential group photograph list short and nominate someone who knows the families to help gather people. For couple portraits, ask the team to recommend a time for your particular venue and season. Leave some breathing room rather than turning every moment into another appointment.

Describe the wedding film you want to watch

A short highlights film and a longer record of the ceremony serve different purposes. Talk about the moments you want to hear as well as see: vows, speeches, conversations and the atmosphere of the celebration. If you want a vertical edit, include that in the brief rather than assuming it comes with the main film.

Discuss aerial images early if they are important to you. Drone coverage should not be treated as automatic. The team needs to confirm feasibility and any required arrangements for the specific locations and date.

Send a useful enquiry before booking

Include your wedding date, venues, rough programme and priorities. A few visual references can help, particularly if you explain whether you like their light, composition, emotion or editing rhythm. References are a starting point for discussion, not a promise that a different location will look identical.

When contacting iPhotoo, tell us whether you need photography, film or both. With a clear brief, the next conversation can focus on a proposal suited to your wedding and the deliverables you want to keep.
